Hey Moonies,
One of our readers, Sean, has sent us photos of his 20th Anniversary Boxset DVDs! He also reports that unfortunately the packaging is the only new thing about this boxset that's new. The discs seem to be the same as the last printing, which means they have not been remastered, just repackaged. This is disappointing to hear, but at least the packaging is very attractive!
Ochiba Wolf was also kind enough to let us feature her images as well! Don't forget to visit her blog if you like them!

Yup, as some online shops says, it's just a (very nice one, indeed) reissue. :) After all, the previous ones aren't that old and Toei may release a blu-ray version in the future.
Nice photos! I understand about the DVD's themselves, but these collections are perfect for those like myself who have never purchased the regional 2 DVD's before. I'm also thinking about purchasing all of those collections as well, but sadly, I'm flat broke & I'm in the process of looking for a better line of work as of right now that will help me make more money.
Plus I also think that there's a way to get English Subtitles on those DVD's through a special program you can get for your computer that will play the DVD and overlay the subs someone else has made over the picture, but where, though? If anyone knows, can you E-mail me at nevertooeasy@gmail.com? I'd really appreciate it.
I'd really like to know what program(and where to get the suns) as well.
Thanks for showing my photos =D
Glad my images helped. :)
It is a nice collector's item, but on the other hand, for people like me who also collected the singles it was a bit disappointing. Still, the design is very nice. The outer box is like smooth marble and the inner jacket is completely holographic.
The only issue here is the price, because even though it's priced-down, it's amazingly expensive. $150 x 10 Boxes.
Garland -> There is an 'underground' site that specializes in sharing stuff and modding the original DVDs or creating subtitle patches for them. I can share the link with you if you want.
Guys, we'd really prefer it if you took the discussions about how to mod DVDs to the forums (http://moonchase.freeforums.org/) - we're supposed to be encouraging fans not to seek unlicensed material!
That being said, once again we urge fans to think carefully before they purchase this - even we found the covers to be amazing but we're all abstaining since it is very expensive, and we probably won't be able to enjoy them as much as we would like to because there are no subtitles.
If you never collected the R2s, now is the time to start. Show your support for SM as this may be test by Toei to see if people are still after Sailor moon! ^^
You can bet I will, Ochibawolf! :)
I think it's about time I learn how to speak Japanese and purchase these. I wish they taught it at my school since they practically have every other language.
