Thank You Moonies!

Yesterday morning, I called up Kodansha USA to thank them personally for bringing Sailor Moon back to North America on behalf of our staff and all our readers. I did ask if our survey report that we sent over a year ago was any help, and the representative told me that it was – and that the company was listening to what the readers had to say. Hearing that brought a smile to all our faces, and assured us that despite all the criticism we faced from many other fans and fansites out there, that our campaign was worth it! We could not have asked for a more perfect result with this license announcement, and we could not have achieved any of this without you fans! From our entire staff, we thank you fans for your support of Operation Moonrise through your survey responses as well as your letters to Kodansha! Your strength and courage helped to bring the manga back (and one day soon, we hope the anime as well). For those of you who were involved in Operation Moonrise, please celebrate – this is a true victory and a testament to the power of the Sailor Moon fandom! We would also like to thank Kodansha for their openness towards our report – the others we had sent them to did not warm up to the ideas and surveys we had to share as quickly. Running these surveys were a huge gamble at the time since it was done before many of the international announcements had been made, and we were unsure that anyone involved with Sailor Moon would take us seriously. But, we had to try, so we did, and we can’t thank you enough for your support! We look forward to bringing all our readers more exciting news from Kodansha in months and years to come.

P.S. Toei Animation is still trying to put things in Japan back together after the recent natural disaster. Please give them some time to return to working on Sailor Moon!

I knew Operation Moonrise will work out and now we got proof!! See you if you really try hard to get a company's attention, they will listen. (Especially if you have a lot of people helping out)

Its better to try, then never try at all. ^-^

Thanks Moon Chase for creating Operation Moonrise!

See, I knew it! With all of us Moonies working together, we can accomplish anything! Thanks to the best Sailor Moon site ever, moonchase, we will soon have the manga back, and the anime will follow not so far behind, I'm sure of it! So thank YOU moonchase for being there for us and keeping us informed, don't know where I'd be without you guys!

Congrats on the sucess and I'm excited, even though I didn't work on Operation Moonrise (because this is my first time hearing about this). Anyways I'm glad it worked out and that you was able to get Kodansa's attention in bringing the manga series back to America! Not only that, but the Sailor V series too.

I'm very excited and can't wait till the fall. I'm definitely making sure I'll save up enough money to get it.

Anyways thanks and keep up the good work!

Wow, thanks for your hard work! The resurgence of Sailor Moon is on-hand! I wrote about my experiences with it in my blog. Check it out sometime!

Do you think the series will inspire a new group of female readers?

I've never read the manga before, but I'm super excited for this! I can't wait until September, so I can read them. I really hope the anime will soon follow, because I grew up with this show. Thank you Operation Moonrise! Long live Sailor Moon!

I read about the manga re-license a couple of weeks ago. I'm very happy that it's returning. I'm also happy Kodansha Comics USA is going to be publishing the new Japanese editions with retouched artwork, and with a translation! Codename: Sailor V will also be a big treat to read! September can't come fast enough!

I'm also glad Kodansha USA is listening to it's fans. I'm sure if you email them your questions, comments, or concerns, they would take them into consideration. I wish more companies were like that (looks at Viz).

You never know - if there is an issue at Viz you know yourself and several fans have the same concerns about, start up a campaign. You will never know unless you try!
